EN • I’ve been planning this post on the best rooftop bars in Barcelona forever and a day. Actually since before I moved to Barcelona in 2019. Now we have 2021, and I am not living in Barcelona anymore. Since you guys have been asking me again and again for a list on my favourite places I decided that the time to publish this post has finally come.

Best rooftop bars in Barcelona
THE NH CALDERON HOTEL
EN • The NH Hotel Calderon is in my opinion THE best rooftop bar in Barcelona. You find this magical place with an 180 degree view directly on Rambla de Catalunya one of the main shopping streets of Barcelona. The rooftop is very elegant designed and features an inside and outdoor area as well as a rooftop pool.
DE • Meine Nummer 1! Das NH Hotel Calderon ist meine Lieblingsrooftopbar in Barcelona. Einfach weil die Location perfekt ist und einen 180 Grad Ausblick auf ganz Barcelona bietet. Das Rooftop ist sehr elegant und hat einen Innen- und Außenbereich und einen Pool.
Secret tipp: the drink “eleven”…is not mentioned on the menu but is the signature drink of the bar. I can recommend it!
Geheimtipp: Den Cocktail “Eleven” findet ihr nicht auf der Speisekarte. Es ist Signatur Drink der Bar. Ich kann ihn nur empfehlen!
THE ALMANAC HOTEL
EN • The amazing design boutique hotel “The Almanac” is located on Gran Via in the heart of Barcelona. For interior-lovers this place is a must-see! Also I have not seen this “tip” on many rooftop guides so this is a real secret. The rooftop bar is called “Azimuth”.
DE • Das wunderschöne Designhotel “Almanac” findet ihr mitten im Herzen von Barcelona: Auf der Gran Via. Wenn ihr wie ich eine Schwäche für chice Inneneinrichtung habt, wird euch dieses Hotel sicher gefallen. Das Almanac an sich ist noch ein wirklicher “Geheimtipp” sprich nicht sehr überlaufen. die Rooftop Bar des Hotels heißt “Azimuth”.
THE PALACE HOTEL
EN • The palace hotel is only a few blocks from the almanac hotel and definitely belongs on this list of the best rooftop bars in Barcelona. It has a completely different vibe. The hotel itself has a classic chic taking you on a time travel trough the old style of Barcelona. I love it for its romantic rooftop garden. Also you have the possibility to do a full pool day there, have a romantic dinner or even watch a movie in the outdoor rooftop cinema!
DE • Das Palace Hotel befindet sich nur ein paar Blocks vom “Almanac” entfernt und ich finde auch dieser romantische Rooftopgarten gehört auf die Liste der besten Rooftops in Barcelona! Das Hotel selbst ist nicht modern sondern eher eine Zeitreise zurück ins alte Barcelona. Mit roten Vorhängen, Kronleuchtern und allem was dazu gehört. Auf dem Dach findet ihr nicht nur einen Garten sondern auch eine Leinwand für romantische Kinonächte und natürlich einen Pool.
OHLA BARCELONA
EN • If you walk down Via Laietana the street that connects the city center directly to the harbour you’ll find the Ohla Barcelona hotel. The chic design hotel has an amazing rooftop bar on two levels with a transparent pool that is in the middle. In my opinion definitely worth a visit and definitely earned its spot on list of the best rooftop bars in Barcelona . Don’t forget your bikini.
DE • Wenn ihr die Via Laietana die das Stadtzentrum mit dem Hafen verbindet entlang geht, findet ihr das OhLa Barcelona Hotel. Das schöne Designhotel hat eine tolle Dachterrasse auf zwei Ebenen mit einem durchsichtigen Pool in der Mitte. Meiner Meinung nach also auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert! Vergesst euren Bikini nicht!
THE BARCELONA EDITION
EN • I LOVE LOVE LOVE this rooftop of the five star luxury hotel Barcelona Edition. The design is on point! It is also close to the Via Laietana. Here you find another rooftop pool, good music, cozy sunbeds and a bar area. What I did not like is that some areas are for hotel guests only.
DE • Ich LIEBE LIEBE LIEBE das Barcelona Edition Rooftop! Das Design des fünf Sterne Hotels verleitet einfach zum wohlfühlen. Außerdem ist es nicht weit vom Ohla Barcelona entfernt. Hier findet ihr auch wieder einen Pool auf dem Dach, gute Musik, Sonnenbetten zum Entspannen und einen Bar-Bereich. Manchmal sind einige der Bereiche allerdings ausschliesslich für Hotel Gäste reserviert.
GRAND HOTEL CENTRAL
EN • The Grand Hotel Central is the neighbour of the Barcelona Edition and also a super nice rooftop. If one is too crowded there is always the option to go to the other! I especially like this place for its infinity pool that gives you the feeling to float above the city.
DE • Das Grand Hotel Central ist quasi der Nachbar vom Barcelona Edition. Die Aussicht ist super schön und wenn das eine überfüllt ist, dann gibt es immer die Option auf das andere auszuweichen. Ich mag dieses Rooftop vor allem wegen des großen Infinity Pools. Man hat einfach das Gefühl über der Stadt zu schweben.
1881 PER SAGRADI – THE YACHT HARBOUR
EN • In contrary to the other rooftops in Barcelona is the 1881 per Sagradi a much lower building so you won’t have an amazing view over the city. BUT this place gives you an unique view over the yacht harbour of Barcelona. I loved to go there for an afterwork drink during the week. Cause of it’s unique location it made it on my personal list of the best rooftop bars in Barcelona.
DE • Im Gegensatz zu den anderen Dachterrassen ist das 1881 per Sagradi eine eher niedrige Dachterrasse. Man hat also keine atemberaubenden Aussichten über die Stadt. Allerdings hat sie etwas das andere nicht haben: Direkte Aussicht über den Yachthafen. Hier bin ich oft für ein Afterwork gewesen. Es ist eine tolle Location und deshalb gehört diese Bar definitiv zu meinen Favoriten.
1882 HOTEL BARCELONA
EN • Another number in the name has the 1882 Hotel around Sagrada Familia. I spent a long weekend in this hotel for New Years last year . The design of the rooftop is very green and you have a great view on the Sagrada Familia.
DE • Ein weiteres Hotel mit einer Zahl im Namen ist das 1882 Hotel in der Nähe der Sagradi Familia. Ich habe ein langes Wochenende zu Silvester dort verbracht. Das Design ist super schön grün und man hat einen tollen Blick auf die Sagrada Familia.
HOTELS THAT DID NOT MAKE IT ON THE LIST
EN • There are a view rooftops I visited but would not necessarily include it on the list of my all time favourite rooftop bars in Barcelona. Maybe because the vibe is just not right. First would be the Ayre Hotel Rosselón. The views on the Sagrada Familia are absolutely breathtaking. However I do not like the hotel itself as it has a rather cold and not very cozy vibe. The same goes for the Hotel Colon in the city center. The view on the cathedral are very nice but nothing special about the bar itself. Lastly I want to mention the Barceló Raval – Nice 180 degree views but the hotel is in a rather shady neighbourhood.
DE • Natürlich gibt es noch viele weitere Rooftops in Barcelona. Allerdings würde ich viele nicht auf die Liste meiner Favoriten nehmen da der Vibe einfach nicht besonders ist. Zuerst würde ich hier trotzdem noch das Ayre Hotel Rosselón nennen. Der Blick auf die Sagrada Familia ist einfach atemberaubend. Allerdings finde ich das Design des Hotels eher billig und kalt. Das gleiche gilt für das Hotel Colon im Stadtzentrum. Der Blick auf die Kathedrale ist super, die Bar selbst leider nichts besonderes. Auch das Barceló Raval hat eine tolle Aussicht ist allerdings in einer eher zwielichtigen Nachbarschaft.
