5 Lovely Cafes in Barcelona you don’t want to miss

EN • Hello lovelies, those who follow me on Instagram know, that I spent the last month in Barcelona. My boyfriend lives there and I wanted to figure out, if I could imagine to live there permanently. So I was working on my master thesis and searching for inspiration since I still do not really know in which field I want to work later on. So I went out every day to find the best cafés in Barcelona to get some work done. It was especially important to me that they made very good coffee (to keep me awake), good food/pastry, fast wifi, inspirational and cozy interior. So I got around many coffee places!

DE • Hallo ihr Lieben! Die die mir auf Instagram folgen wissen, dass ich den ganzen letzten Monat in Barcelona verbrachte habe. Ich wollte raus finden, ob ich mir vorstellen kann, dort hinzuziehen. Während meiner Zeit in Bcn habe ich weiter an meiner Masterarbeitzu arbeiten. Ich habe ganz besonders darauf geachtet, dass es im Café meiner Wahl guten Cappuccino bzw. Smoothies macht (um mich wach zu halten) und das sie außerdem leckeres Essen/Gebäck, schnelles Internet und eine gemütliche Atmosphäre hatten. Nach und nach hat sich dann natürlich eine Liste meiner Lieblingsrestaurants ergeben. Daher dachte ich mir, dass ich mein Ergebnis einfach mit euch teilen kann. Falls ihr mal nach Barcelona kommt und auf der Suche nach süßen Cafés seid.

EN • Alsur, you have ever been my favorite! Some years ago when I came to Barcelona for the first time, I found this to be the coziest place in the city! I really loved spending my time there not only because they have AMAZING cakes! What you will find and why you will feel like home: Alsur Café features a lovely decoration: Inside and outside! There are tons of pillows all over the place, which gives the place a cozy living room flair. Also, they play nice music, brew good coffee and bake unbelievably delicious cakes! I strongly recommend their Red Velvet Cake! Fortunately, there are two Alsur Cafés in Barcelona in different neighborhoods.

Tip: If you’re on the go and come by metro station Placa Espana, you can enjoy the delights of Alsur Deli on your way home

DE • Alsur, du warst schon immer mein Favorit! Entdeckt habe ich das Alsur Café als ich vor ein paar Jahren das erste Mal in Barcelona war. Ich fand damals schon, dass es der gemütlichste Ort der Stadt ist! Ich verbringe meine Zeit wirklich gerne dort, und das nicht nur wegen der leckeren Kuchen! Das Alsur Café ist innen wie außen liebevoll dekoriert. Überall liegen viele Kissen herum, was dem Ganzen eine gemütliche Wohnzimmer-Atmosphäre verleiht. Außerdem gibt es schöne Musik, guten Kaffee und unglaublich leckeres Gebäck. Ich kann vor allem Red Velvet Cake wirklich empfehlen! Glücklicher Weise gibt es gleich zwei Alsur Cafés in Barcelona in verschiedenen Stadtteilen.

Tipp: wer auf dem Sprung ist und mit der Metro am Placa Espana vorbei kommt, kann dort die Köstlichkeiten vom Alsur Deli für unterwegs.

EN •  Casa Bonay is both, a coffeeshop by day and a bar by night. At daytime it is a very quiet place, so it’s a perfect spot if you want to get some work done. By night it becomes much more busy. It’s the perfect spot to meet a friend for a glass of wine, sit down on one of their dark green sofas and listen to their unique mix of different music that ranks from electro vibes to jazz and cuban salsa. I must admit, I really do love this place! Mostly for their inspiring interior design and their amazing wines, less for their prices… Casa Bonay is definitely a must-see, although you should not come every day if you want to go easy on your wallet.

DE • Die Casa Bonay ist beides, ein Coffeeshop bei Tag und eine Bar bei Nacht. Tagsüber ist es ein sehr ruhiger Ort, also gut um etwas Arbeit am Laptop zu erledigen oder ein Buch zu lesen. Abends wird es dann zur gutbesuchten Bar. Es ist der perfekte Ort, um eine Freundin  auf ein Glas Wein zu treffen, es sich auf einem der dunkelgrünen Sofas gemütlich zu machen und einen einzigartigen Musikmix zu hören, der von Electro-Vibes über Jazz bis hin zu kubanischem Salsa reicht. Ich muss zugeben, ich liebe die Casa Bonay wirklich! Vor allem wegen des inspirierenden Interrior-Designs und ihrer fantastischen Weine, weniger für ihre Preise: Man sollte dort nicht jeden Abend verbringen, wenn man seinen Geldbeutel etwas schonen möchte.

EN • Manso’s is another place where the food is simply delicious.  It is very nice to sit outside, right in front of the window and enjoy the sun while eating one of their tasty bagles for brunch. We figured that the Nordic Bagle is the best one, since it combined smoked salmon, avocado and porched eggs. If you are more the sweet type you should go for the chocolate tart!

DE • Manso’s ist ein Weiteres meiner Lieblings-Cafés, in dem das Essen einfach richtig lecker ist. Am liebsten sitze ich direkt vor dem Fenster um beim Brunchen die Sonne zu genießen und die Passanten zu beobachten. Mein Favorit auf der Karte ist der Nordika Bagel mit geräucherten Lachs, Avocado und pochiertem Ei. Wenn es lieber süß sein soll, ist die Schokoladentorte auf jeden Fall die richtige Entscheidung!

EN •  The dishes at Brunch and Cake are a treat for the eye! The healthy, high-quality food is beautiful and creatively arranged, so you want to take 1000 photos before you start eating. Whether you order pancakes or burgers for brunch, it always tastes delicious! Brunch and Cake is an absolute photo spot, and therefore a magnet for internationals and bloggers.

DE • Den Ausspruch „das Auge isst mit“ hat sich hier wirklich jemand zu Herzen genommen! Die gesunden, qualitativ hochwertigen und vielseitigen Gerichte sind super schön und kreativ angerichtet, sodass man erst einmal 1000 Fotos machen möchte, bevor man anfängt zu essen. Egal ob man Pancakes oder Burger zum Brunch bestellt, es schmeckt einfach immer sehr lecker! Brunch and Cake ist also ein absoluter Fotospot, und damit ein Magnet für Internationale und Blogger.

EN • I love Molika for their homemade cakes, delicious Smoothies, cozy ambiente and fast Wifi. I could sit there all long and work on my computer or just observe the people passing by on the street.

DE • Ich liebe Molika für ihre hausgemachten Kuchen, leckeren Smoothies und ihr gemütliches Ambiente. Außerdem kann man dort super arbeiten und oder einfach Leute beobachten die auf der Straße vorbei eilen.
