EN • Travelling and Corona are two things that don’t necessarily go well with each other. However as you remember in this post about my top 6 destinations to travel after corona, I fantasised about taking my first trip after the lockdown. At some point we have to go back to normality and to me traveling was simply a part of that. I really felt to urge to go places and at the same time it is very important to travel and stay safe during corona.

DE • Reisen und Corona sind zwei Dinge, die nicht unbedingt gut zusammenpassen. Wie ich aber schon in diesem Post über meine Top 6 Reiseziele nach corona, geschrieben habe, plagt mich das Fernweh ein wenig. Irgendwann müssen wir zur Normalität zurückkehren und für mich ist Reisen einfach ein Teil davon. Ich hatte das Bedürfnis, fremde Orte zu besuchen. Gleichzeitig ist es sehr wichtig, das Risiko für sich und seine Familie minimal zu halten.

EN • If you want to start travelling right after corona or not is entirely up to you. You should only go if you really feel that is is safe for you to take a trip. Recently I took my first trip to a  neighbouring country. To me this was a good option Travel and Stay safe during Corona.

DE • Lass dir bei der Entscheidung Zeit. Fühle einfach ein bisschen in dich hinein, ob es sich schon gut und sicher für dich gut anfühlt, zu reisen. Ich habe letzte Woche meinen ersten Trip nach Österreich gemacht. Es war wunderschön und der Szenenwechsel hat mir wirklich gut getan.

Plan your trip carefully

EN • Planning your trip carefully is a must. Talk to the hotel about what they do to guarantee a safe stay. Inform yourself about the safety measures of the country or state you travel to. I for my part avoid flying and going to exotic places as it is not safe. I think airports are a risky place. It’s also not safe to assume that you can return home at any time or don’t have to face quarantine in the destination or home country. Baby steps are in order.

DE • In Zeiten von Corona ist es wichtig, eine Reise gut zu planen. Man sollte sich über das Hotel informieren und welche Maßnahmen sie treffen um ein sicheres Reisen zu ermöglichen. Außerdem vermeide ich es momentan noch auf Flughäfen unterwegs zu sein. Auch exotische Reiseziele sind erst einmal nicht geplant. Man kann nie sicher sein ob man in fernen Ländern nicht doch in Quarantäne muss oder bei der Rückkehr. Langsames herantasten ist also angebracht.

EN • I decided to travel within my home country Germany as well as the neighbouring countries such as Austria, Switzerland and France. This is another measure to travel while staying safe during corona.

DE • Für die ersten Reisen nach Corona habe ich mich dazu entschieden, innerhalb Deutschlands und den Nachbarländern sowie Österreich, Schweiz oder Frankreich zu reisen.

Take your own action

EN • Of course it depends on you to make sure you travel safely during corona. There are many small things you can take as precaution. Take your disinfection gel always with you, wear a mask in busy places and avoid crowds.

DE • Natürlich hängt es von einem selbst ab, während der Corona Krise sicher zu reisen. Es gibt viele kleine Dinge, die man als Vorsichtsmaßnahme treffen kann. Ich habe immer mein Desinfektionsgel dabei, trage an belebten Orten eine Maske und vermeide Menschenmassen.
