EN • Daydreaming is allowed, planning too, and actually taking the trip.. well we will see! Here I am, sitting in my dad’s vintage car, dreaming of a road trip to distant places. Places to travel after Corona.

DE • Tagträumen ist erlaubt, Pläne schmieden auch.. und eine Reise tatsächlich machen….nunja wir werden sehen. Da sitze ich nun, im Oldtimer meines Vaters, und träume von einem Roadtrip zu fernen Orten.

EN • I am curious so see what 2020 has planned for us. Soon I will leave Germany and go back to Barcelona. The European countries have started to open their borders and I am about to make plans to go on vacation. Of course only when it is safe again!

DE • Ich bin gespannt was dieses turbulente Jahr noch so mit sich bringt. Bald werde ich wieder nach Barcelona zurückkehren. Jetzt da wieder Normalität einkehrt, gibt es keinen Grund mehr, fern zu bleiben. Wehmütig denke ich an all die Urlaubsziele, die ich noch entdecken möchte und schmiede schon den ein oder anderen Plan, da sich jetzt die Grenzen langsam wieder öffnen.

Germany

EN • My home country, my starting point. When we think about the positive effects Corona had, I’d say that we definitely learned to appreciate what we have. I learned to appreciate the beauty of Germany. There are so many corners I haven’t seen yet. Schwarzwald, Elbsandsteingebirge, Walhalla are on my list.

DE • Bevor ich ausgewandert bin, konnte ich mein Heimatland nicht so wirklich schätzen. Wenn uns Corona eines gelehrt hat, dann ist es Wertschätzung für all die Dinge, die wir haben. Ich habe in den vergangenen Monaten die Schönheit Deutschlands zu schätzen gewusst und das Landleben genossen. Ich kenne noch gar nicht alle Ecken von Deutschland. Der Schwarzwald, das Elbsandsteingebirge und die Walhalla stehen zum Beispiel noch auf meiner Liste.

Italy

EN • For Italy, Corona was the worst nightmare. When I think about travelling after Corona I have the urge to go back to Italy. Not only to see all the beautiful little villages and the romantic that comes with them. No, I also would like to support where it is needed the most. Maybe gentle tourism can fix the economic setbacks.

DE • Für Italien war die Corona Krise verheerend. Wenn ich über eine Reise nach Corona nachdenke, steht Italien definitiv auf meiner Agenda. Nicht nur weil ich die romantischen Orte und das Italienische Essen vermisse. Auch weil ich denke, dass Tourismus dort wirtschaftlich unterstützen kann.

Fuerteventura

EN • That’s where I left off when Corona kicked in. Imagine the black and white beaches of this desert island. There is so much beauty to discover. To me it’s a place to be and forget about the world. In the silence of this island you can find yourself and disconnect from daily life.

DE • Der Ort an dem Corona mich erwischt hat. Mein Surfurlaub wurde vermasselt und ich kann es kaum erwarten, ihn nachzuholen. Immerhin habe ich noch einen Gutschein! Fuerteventura ist einfach ein magischer Ort, eine Wüste mitten im Meer mit endlosen, weißen und auch schwarzen Stränden. Ein Ort, an dem man den Rest der Welt vergessen kann und zu sich findet.

South of France

EN • When thinking about summer, the south of France, lavender fields and romantic old vine yards come to my mind. The south of France is not far from where I live in Spain. It’s definitely a place to travel after Corona.

DE • Südfrankreich ist nicht weit von dort, wo ich in Spanien wohne. Wenn ich mit den Sommer in Südfrankreich vorstelle, denke ich an romantische Lavendelfelder, das blaue Meer und kleine Bergdörfer. Ich denke es wird höchste Zeit, dieser wunderschönen Gegend einen Besuch abzustatten.

Croatia

EN • Croatia is one of my happy places. I love the crystal clear waters and the beautiful cities. Its a place to enjoy life. I would say it’s definitely a perfect county to do a road trip and visit hidden beaches, go hiking or do a boat trip.

DE • Kroatien ist einfach nur wunderschön. Ein Ort um glücklich zu sein. Vor allem, liebe ich das kristallklare Wasser. Kroatien eignet sich super für einen Roadtrip. Man kann viele Orte besuchen, versteckte Strände entdecken, wandern oder einen Bootsausflug machen.

EN • I hope that this post inspired you to dream! I hope that I was able to draw you an image of what a sweet vacay in Europe might look like and gave you some hope that we can overcome the lockdown and will be free again. Happier days are yet to come!

DE • Wo auch immer du gerade bist, ich hoffe dass ich dich ein bisschen zum träumen inspirieren konnte. Corona wird hoffentlich bald Geschichte sein und wir werden auch diese Zeit überstehen. Bessere Tage werden kommen!
