EN • Couple of weeks ago I visited a good friend in Salzburg. If you’re curious to learn more about things to do in Salzburg read this post. We spent one day stand up paddling at the the mountain lake Fuschlsee which is close by.

DE • Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich eine gute Freundin in Salzburg besucht, mehr über all die tollen Dinge die man in Salzburg und Umgebung entdecken kann, habe ich in diesem Post beschrieben. Einen Tag haben wir mit  am Fuschlsee verbracht. Dieser Türkise Bergsee ist einfach wunderschön und hat so klares Wasser.

Stand Up Paddling: Sport and Relaxation

EN • Despite many people say that stand up paddling is quite difficult I can tell you it is not. It simply depends on the conditions of the water surface. If you are a starter, Stand Up Paddling in a Lake is definitely the right thing to do. I imagine it more difficult to practice in the sea. The more quiet the water, the easiesr it gets to navigate the board. If you don’t feel secure standing on the board, you can also sit of knee on or even lay on it.

DE • Obwohl viele sagen, dass stand up paddlen schwierig ist, finde ich dass es eher von den Wetterbedingungen abhängt. Bei einer ruhigen Wasseroberfläche ist es wirklich nicht schwer die Balance zu halten. Deshalb ist es einfacher in einem See zu üben, auf dem Meer stelle ich es mir schwieriger vor . Wenn man sich im Stehen noch nicht sicher fühlt, kann man sich aber auch hinsetzen, knien oder sogar hinlegen.

How find your SUP

EN • When the trend of stand up paddling came up a couple of years ago it was not so common to buy one.  Now if you go to a lake, you’ll find many people bringing their own boards. You can transport it easily and  fill it with air once you arrive at the water. If you don’t want to buy your own SUP, there are many places to rent a board for an hour or two.

DE • Als der SUP Trend aufkam, war es nicht gleich üblich sich ein eigenes zu kaufen. Mittlerweile hat sich das geändert und viele bringen ihr eigenes SUP board mit. Es ist super einfach zu transportieren und man kann es vor Ort dann mit Luft befüllen. Man kann sich aber auch stundenweise eins mieten.

Quality time on the lake

EN • When my friend and me where in the middle of the lake, we just kept the paddle and laid down in the sun. It was the most amazing feeling to just relax in the sun and see where the current took us.

DE • Als meine Freundin und ich in der Mitte vom See waren, haben wir das Paddle einfach nur noch gehalten und uns auf dem Board in die Sonne gelegt. Es war ein unbeschreibliches Gefühl, sich einfach mit der Strömung des Sees treiben zu lassen.
