EN • Today starts the Cyber Week with Black Friday in the end and Cyber Monday in the beginning of the following week. When I think about Black Friday I have many, many different pictures in my mind: Good deals and cheap prices, crowds in the city and way too many people in the shops. When it comes to online shopping, phrases such as “sold out” or “site not reachable” are a real bummer. However, I think that this day should be fun! We should enjoy it! After all, it’s an occasion to treat ourselves. So here are my top 3 rules to make shopping on Black Friday less stressful.
DE • Morgen startet schon wieder die “Schwarze Woche” mit Back Friday am Ende und Cyber Monday zu Beginn der nächsten Woche. Wenn ich an Black Friday denke, habe ich immer die verschiedensten Bilder im Kopf. Auf der einen Seite tolle Schnäppchen und gute Preise. Auf der anderen Seite denke ich an Menschenmengen, viel zu volle Läden und Webseiten die unter der Last der Besucher zusammen brechen. Sätze wie “sold out” und “die Seite ist momentan nicht erreichbar” sind dann noch die Krönung des Ganzen. Ich finde, der Black Friday sollte Spaß machen! Immerhin gönnt man sich was. Deshalb teile ich hier mal kurz meine top 3 Tips, um den Black Friday ein bisschen entspannter anzugehen.
Make a plan: prioritize
EN • I love to have a strategy and to plan the outcomes. So if there are kitchen appliances, bags, designer pieces or beauty products you always wanted to own, the Cyber Week is the time to watch ’em carefully and hunt ’em down. However, keep in mind that there are many, many other shoppers out there. Get your priorities straight so you don’t loose your chance. And just in case: think of alternative pieces, before so you can quickly get the “second best” option.
DE • Mit einem richtigen Plan geht vieles einfacher. Wenn man also auf der Suche nach speziellen Küchenutensilien, Einrichtungsgegenständen, Taschen, Designerstücken oder Schönheitsprodukten ist, dann lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall, diese am Black Friday im Auge zu behalten. So kann man im richtigen Moment eventuell das ein oder andere Schnäppchen machen. Trotzdem sollte man im Hinterkopf behalten, dass jeder am Black Friday daraus aus ist, einen guten Deal zu machen. Deshalb sollte man schon vorher priorisieren, welche Dinge am wichtigsten sind. Für den Fall der Fälle ist es auch nicht schlecht, schon vorher an eine Alternative gedacht zu haben.

EN • … this translates in “don’t buy unnecessary things!” Now, this might hurt a little but coming from a business background, I need to tell you that Black Friday is nothing but a giant marketing stunt. Sure some things are actually cheaper. Some might just appear cheaper and if you didn’t check the prices before you’ll never know if you actually made a good deal. So my advice: go shopping, have fun but don’t feel to pressured to buy things you don’t need.
DE • … Mit anderen Worten “kauf nichts, was du nicht wirklich willst!” Nun, das könnte ein wenig weh tun, aber ich sollte erwähnen, dass Black Friday nichts anderes als ein gigantischer Marketing-Stunt ist. Sicher sind einige Dinge tatsächlich günstiger. Andere, eher nicht. Deshalb ist mein Rat: Geht einkaufen, habt Spaß, aber lasst euch nicht unter Druck setzen Dinge zu kaufen, die man nicht wirklich braucht.
